I think it is just the controller's ID.
Reference to a specific disk size should be avoided.
I have the same ID for a Terramaster TD2 which is a 2 bay SATA enclosure to 3.1 Gen 2 with hardware RAID.
I unfortunately haven't been able to identify the exact chip reference.
