Name: ASMedia 2105 SATA to USB3 bridge

It should be named "ASMedia 2105 SATA to USB3 bridge" as that is what it is, from http://www.asmedia.com.tw/.

It is present also on hard disks enclosures from Conceptronic (http://www.conceptronic.net/) and Unyka (http://www.unykach.com/).

New Chip: ASM1153E — USB3.0 to SATA 6Gbps bridge
http://www.asmedia.com.tw/eng/e_show_products.php?cate_index=97&item=133

The ASM1153E is now found in external hard drive enclosures which support UASP.

Name string should not include "Name:"

blacksvk

ASM1153E also found in "Fantec" external hard drive enclosure
(converts SATA to USB 3.0 with UASP support) with article name "DB-ALU3-6G".

Name string should start without superfluous phrase "Name: ".
When id applies for 4 chips, then the name string should maybe more compacted like:
"ASM1153 SATA 3Gb/s bridge; ASM1051E, ASM1053E, ASM1153E SATA 6Gb/s bridge"

Name: ASM1051E, ASM1053E, ASM1153E, ASM1156, ASM1351 SATA 6Gb/s to USB3.x bridge with UASP

Note: ASM1153 SATA 3Gb/s bridge is *not* 174c:55aa, but 174c:5106 instead

added ASM1156 and ASM1351
removed ASM1153
Four of these ASMedia chips support USB3.2 Gen1 5Mbit/s, one supports USB3.2 Gen2 10Mbit/s
All chips do support UASP.
Note:
If you follow the two links above (matson 2014-05-21 19:28:40) you will *not* find the device usb-id 174c:55aa, as this is a mistake here.
The ASM1153's correct usb-id is 174c:5106.

Name: ASM1051E, ASM1053E, ASM1153E, ASM1156, ASM1351 SATA 6Gb/s bridge

A more short name is wiser since the USB-specification number may increase in future and it is of no use here, as well as the UASP-support.
Note:
Four of these ASMedia chips support "SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps", one supports "SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps".
(Above I got it wrong when writing Mbit/s. It is Gbit/s.)

Name: ASM1051E, ASM1053E, ASM1153E, ASM1156, ASM1351, ASM235CM SATA 6Gb/s bridge

The first four of these ASMedia chips support "SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps", the last two ones support "SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps".

Reminder: If you follow the two links above (matson 2014-05-21 19:28:40) you will *not* find the device usb-id 174c:55aa, as this is a mistake here.
The ASM1153's correct usb-id is 174c:5106. It is the ASM1153E whose usb-id is 174c:55aa.

Note: The ASM1153's usb-id is 174c:5106.

ASM1051E, ASM1053E, ASM1153E, ASM1156, ASM225CM ASMedia chips support "SuperSpeed USB 5 Gbps",
ASM1351, ASM235CM ASMedia chips support "SuperSpeed USB 10 Gbps".
ASM225CM, ASM235CM chips support USB Type-C natively, i.e. without an additional ASMedia ASM1542.
All these chips support "SATA 6 Gbps".
