Name: AX225 SD/MMC/MS Card Reader/Writer
This is pretty much confirmed by googling the '225' part of the PID with 'AX' prepended (as other PIDs usually correlate with the chip names under them),
which yielded a single-page PDF which described some its features, some of which were the "8051-compatible MCU", "1.5 KB RAM" and "12 KB ROM" which was
consistent with what i've reverse-engineered out of it.
And then further looking at the dumped ROM disassembly, i stumbled upon the stuff that was dealing with the SD/MMC and MemoryStick protocols, which was also consistent with what was on the PDF. (the device I had with this chip was a USB flash that stored data on a SPI flash, not a card reader)
