Name: VL716, VL817 SATA 6Gb/s bridge
Note: I can only confirm the VL716 chip here. Presumably the VL715 (for a USB Type-B socket) has got the same USB-ID.
The VIA VL716-Q4 is a SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps to SATA 6Gbps bridge controller for a USB Type-C socket.
See: https://paste.opensuse.org/75357844
This chip can be found in an USB-C SuperSpeed 10 Gb/s 2,5" HDD/SSD external enclosure, e.g. Delock 42611.

Name: VL711 SATA 6Gb/s bridge
Note: Change name
Current name is wrong. VL817 is not a USB-SATA bridge but an USB3.1 hub (see manufacturer website: https://www.via-labs.com/product_show.php?id=83)
The product ID actually refers to a USB-SATA bridge, but using the VL711 chip (source: I opened my device).
Proposed new name: VL711 SATA 6Gb/s bridge

Name: VL711, VL715, VL716 SATA 6Gb/s bridge
Note: Do remove VL817 from here as this is a USB-Hub!
VIA Lab’s VL711 is a high performance, low power single chip SuperSpeed USB 5Gbps to SATA 6Gb/s bridge controller designed for new generation external storage devices.
VIA Lab’s VL715 is a high performance, low power single chip SuperSpeed USB 10Gbps to SATA 6Gb/s bridge controller designed for new generation external storage devices.

Name: VL711, VL713, VL715, VL716 SATA 6Gb/s bridge
Note: Do remove VL817, and change name to VL71x or long with all reported chips.
Maybe name should be changed to:
VL71x SATA 6Gb/s bridge
as reported used by VL711, VL715, VL716 SATA 6Gb/s bridge
but I've found this PID also reported by VLI VL713 SATA 6Gb/s bridge
https://www.via-labs.com/product_show.php?id=65
VL713 is a high performance, low power single chip USB 3.0 to SATA 6Gb/s bridge controller with USB type-C connector Bulk-Only Transport (BOT) without working TRIM
